Abstract The idea to grow diamond from the gas phase was born in 1950s but it took about 30 years until first layers directly grown on substrates were shown Japan by Matsumoto and co-workers. During of research function atomic hydrogen, various growth methods process parameters investigated. Research primarily focused applications for wear-resistant tools. For this topic interactions like hardmetals ceramics, with deposition atmosphere, Beside its superior hardness, exhibits highest heat conductivity, high transparency, chemical inertness suitable semiconducting properties. requirements areas application required a division into corresponding sub-areas. hot-filament method is used mainly wear applications, because highly suited coat complex geometries, contains some impurities. This work intended convey reader an industrially manufactured product can many ways. With correspondingly low costs diamond, new innovative appear possible.
